But how do these little white balls contain so much protein and yet are still light and delicious? The high protein content comes naturally from the well-know soja bean. But how does a soja bean become a soy crispy? Crispies are produced through extrusion. This process forms protein-rich raw materials into little balls, in this case. First, a mixture is formed from soja and maize, which of course contains water. As the "dough" is condensed in a heated screw press, it is pressed through a small vent. The vent causes a loss of pressure, which causes the mass to expand and dry, giving it its balloon form. Last but not least they are coated with a light layer of sugar and cacao. The high level of plant protein is ideal for atheletes but also for anyone who enjoy a crispy addition to their muesli. It's the perfect add-on. Our Soja Protein Crispies are also completely free of added sugar or other addititives.
